Gaffer, I've been offered Mahrez and RLC for Castagne and Eze (Togga scoring) and wondered what you thought of the deal? I've already got Ricardo Perreira and Gabriel Jesus my end

I’d probably take the deal. I like the handcuffs you’ve got. I like the Mahrez PP start upside. I hate to see Eze leave but Palace will be the worst team to avoid relegation this season.

Hey John. I'm currently holding a defense of Shaw, Jonny Evans, Soyuncu, and Rudiger. ROS would you drop anyone for Bogle or Jonny? What about a speculative add of Kai? Thanks!

Drop Kai if he doesn't start tomorrow morning.

I would happily drop Evans for either of those. Bogle first. Wolves will still rotate that LWB spot a little bit. Nice streaming play today but I missed on him in a couple leagues....

Thanks! I like bogle but wanted to keep my foxes for the double next week. Maybe ill just go for it anyway. Kai is available right now as a FA. Worth the add now to see if tuchel gets something out of him?

Sure. He's a perfect streaming option. I'd add him for free anywhere I can and be happy to drop him as soon as he's not in the chelsea XI for someone else who can start for me (as needed, of course - if you can leave him on your bench do that)

Good afternoon Gaffer! I’m in an 8 team OFPL redraft League. I drafted Ziyech & Pulisic right before Tuchel stepped in to crush all my hopes & dreams. I tried trading them for 2 weeks but couldn’t get anyone to bite and now nobody will even go near them. Top guys on the wire look 2 be Jota, Lookman, Gross, CHO, McNeil, McGinn, Neves & Greenwood. How would you play it?

Also a quick Sorare question. What initial investment do you think it would take for the average fantasy fan that can’t afford to spend $1k-$5k per card in order to get started, have fun and b competitive?

As always thanks for ur time!

Andrew Laird and I have traded about 500 messages this week on Sorare so here is a lineup he put together which would hit 205 pts on average every week (in practice it hit the threshold twice and missed twice). The biggest hit is the Common GK will lost 45% of their points in this level of competition so again, get a top one. Ask me for names!

NAME - target weekly score - Cost

COMMON GK (-45% points) - 20 pts - Free

DEF - Derijck - 36.6 - $37

MID - Seck - 75 - $46

FWD - Vossen - 48 - $46

FLX - Streider - 58 - $42

That netted 238 points. Hit the right captain (+20%) and you're over the 250 threshhold as well (0.02 ETH prize) plus you'll finish pretty well over all making you eligible to win prize cards, too.

Yeah in an 8-team league I am brutal in my cuts. Lookman should have been owned long before this weekend so 0 problem with dropping Ziyech for him. Pulisic has to be the best PPM option out there, right? I would hold Pulisic until kickoff and then make the move for CHO (if he's starting) or Jota if CHO isn't starting. If you're a little more conservative just drop both now for Gross and Lookman. Bang, you just make your team 10-15% better. I bet both of them could start for most teams in your league.

SORARE! Question 1, love to see it. I think you can put together a team which can compete for the ETH weekly payout threshold for $200-250 but you'll have to be very wise in buying your COMMON GKS. They simply cost too much. Right now I'm trying to negotiate the price of a back-up GK and someone wants $90. And that's not a *bad* price in the market. If you don't have ETH already (like me, I do not) and so you're not playing with a little bit of house money, you'll need to pick you battles. The auction is a good place to get decent deals, but assume you'll spend 25-50 on 4 players, use your common card for your GK and then try to score 205 points each week to earn 0.01 ETH. If you hit that goal for the rest of this season you'll have a nice little stake of .2 ETH and that gives you real buying power and an ability to grow your team. If you were early on ETH and can bring even 1 ETH (could be had for less than 500E three months ago!) you're in a great position to compete for prizes pretty quickly.

Definitely going to write more about this so hop in. (and do use the referral link: sorare.com/r/fantasygaffer - you'll have to copy paste but it's worth it)

Hey Gaffer, Lovely work as per usual, What value would you be looking to get back if you were to say trade out one or both of Mount and Pulisic?

For Mount I'd want a little more than if I'm trading away Pulisic (redraft league here I'm assuming). IF you can find a person who is willing to take back both you need to be targeting a top 10 player (I know Mount is technically there now but assume you don't think he stays there or else why trade?). But if you're moving both I want back KDB, Grealish, Bruno or Maddison. AND I probably want their DEF2 or FWD2 as a makeweight.

1:1 deals I think both are harder to ship because of the issues with Pulisic. Are you trying to just get rid of him? I'd take back any regular starter who's scoring 8 pp90' or more. Pascal Gross/Leandro Trossard level if you could guarantee both started the right of Brighton's matches. Maybe sell CP to buy Diogo Jota on the hope he's really healthy in three weeks? That might be too much of a risk for most people.

Otherwise for Mount I want a no-doubt, lock-down FWD1: Salah, Mane, Kane, Sterling. I would consider: Son, Neto, Bamford. I would not take DC-L right now because of the injury concerns.

Would Phil Foden, Gabriel Jesus, or Rashford be enough for Mount, Gaffer?

Rashford is basically dead-level value. If you need FWD1 that's fair. I'd probably rather have Mount than Foden but there's a good argument for the youngster which is the massive game-over-game upside. Still think Mount nips him in ROS value. Jesus is 4th of these names.
