Hi John, I’m sharing your enthusiasm for Jota this year, but how do we figure he is going to get the minutes to justify his rank in the Top 200? Surely, he needs to pick up 30 starts to justify a 2nd round pick. Can he really manage that with the talent ahead of him?

Wrote a whole article just to justify this pick. Enjoy the Breakouts, Lottery Tickets and Busts!

On the playing time - not remotely a concern. He can play in the front or middle three, and even if he ONLY played when another player was resting he would get 20-25 starts. Plus Henderson only gets 25 games a year and Gini is gone, and the African CoN is in January, and....

Hi Gaffer, went through the top 200 in fantrax scoring

Wondering why the huge gap between Targett, and Cash?

Also, couldn't see some players in the rankings Kante etc., any reason?

I mean, generally I'm not high on some players for fantasy and Kante is a great example. His point floor has consistently gotten lower as he's aged and since his move to Chelsea. 6.4 PPM last season was bad and I don't see much room for his to add 2-2.5 points per match back to his game at this stage.

Targett and Cash is really down to the 1,000 minute difference in playing time. Targett also has a bit more experience being two years older. Cash is fine; they are a bunch of picks apart but only one Tier and if you thought Cash is going to step up a bit on offensive production (neither has much) then I could see him being at the top of that tier. For me, this season, he's just another guy who could be a DEF3

Hi John, thanks for all your work, won two leagues last season using the draft rankings/articles so subscribed for a full season. Just wondering when will the OFPL top 150 go up as I have an early draft soon? Cheers.

hi will, was meant to already be up but the recent signings I wanted to add just left me with a bit of formatting work. I apologize that this slowed me down but, as you all know I'm very analog! It should be posted not later than Wednesday evening.

Hey John. Now that Varane has signed, where would you rank him in the top 200 for a league with default Fantrax scoring. Thanks.

Hi Greg, Varane sits below Maguire and above Semedo in the defender ranks and would currently sit 57-59. I think there is some concern about how his presence will impact both his and Maguire's accumulation of those fractional defensive stats (for points purposes I mean) with each having a bit less upside for floor as a result, but also a bit more upside if the upgrade to Varane results in a bump in team clean sheets.

Thanks John. I would be great if over the next couple of weeks (until v2 of the top 200) you could post approximately where you'd slot in any new signings. Especially if they are in the top 100. Thanks.

Hey Gaffer, I noticed in the OFPL 8 team draft you took keepers earlier than you normally suggest. Is this bc there was an earlier run on DEF?

Also are you seeing lots of love for Raphinha in other mocks you’re doing? I have a pretty casual league so I’m hoping I can get him fourth round, but I’m willing to take him im the 3rd if needed.

Appreciate all your work.

In the 8-Team mock you have roster requirements that must be filled (2 5 5 3) by position so the depth at each position matters more. At the time I took the two GK they had a good chance at outscoring the other position players left, I had filled most of my spots where more upside was available. It's a silly part of how that game is designed and one of the reasons why I wanted to provide an OFPL mock draft this summer because it is SO different.

Thoughts on Maddison this upcoming season? I noticed you ranked home fairly high, looking to take a peek into your thought process of your evaluation of him.

i like Maddison a lot because of the different facets of his game that each contribute to fantasy points. what the Foxes are building right now could be a massive boom to his fantasy owners or could be setting the stage for his exit. if he does leave, and leaves for another too 5-6 club, i still like his chances to retain a regular staring spot and be a highly productive FPL asset. I was specifically asked about Arsenal in another question and what I said was that may be the best landing place for him from the rumored teams. they need a Maddison badly but i have minimal faith in Artera turning that ship around.
