Open Thread: Draft Weekend 1

In 20 minutes I’m stepping into my first live draft room of the year - an real nerdfest of a room with Ry and Mike, my cohosts from @BangAveragePod, the Rotoworld and RotoWire collectives and a handful of other folks who spend too much time caring about their fake football clubs, sorry Soccer Teams. Expert/writer drafts do tend to happen a bit earlier in the season, but we’re also (theoretically) the most prepared people so…But the drafts are also a ton of fun because we all know each other very well, we can see each others ranks, analysis, twitter, etc.
And sometimes a few of us go rogue and just pick our favorite players, or every U25 player. I mean fantasy is meant to be FUN. Have some fun with it. Follow along @THE_IEFSA and @FantasyGaffer.

The Official FPL 8-Team Mock Draft
This season I’m covering more Official Game (not at the expense of anything, well except my sanity and relationship with my family - hey, same jokes!) including two important additions to the subscriber Draft Guide shared doc: Top 200 OFPL and the 8-Team mock draft.
Breakouts, Lottery Tickets and Busts
In that one, we talk descriptions for each term and then a couple of names which fit the bill. The sharp-eyed among you likely already picked out some of these names from their ranks in the Top 200 or the position ranks; these expectations are all baked in the cake.
Later today, after Draft 1 (of toooo many) I’ll be publishing a reader-requested article detailing a couple different ways to handle New Transfers and Equity for leagues that are concerned about how to integrated the Premier Leagues new signings into their player pool/across teams after your draft is completed. Remember this summer the window closes in one month: 31 August.

Hey Gaffer, all the talk is around Grealish to City today but I think the bigger news (unconfirmed) would b Lukaku to Chelsea. Stock up: wingbacks mainly Chilwell & James, also Havertz & Mount. Stock way down: Werner. When Lukaku is added to the game is going to b huge whether it’s pre draft or post draft. I have to believe some of these assets start moving up the board as City assets move down. Tuschel rotated a ton just like Pep but I feel like he settled in to his top 11 more during the run in. So my long winded rant ends in the question. Will u have any time to update OFPL ranks 1 more time with all this craziness going on? Please??!! Hahahahaha
