Open Thread: Taking stock, and stock in trade
let's use bids against the bidders.
Good morning, did you land Gareth Bale? Sergio Reguilon? Cengiz Under? Did you make a big bid to land someone only to come up a few pounds short or did you narrowly win a player against big odds?
You may be asking, how do I know if I won a player against big odds? Well, if you’re playing on Fantrax you can look at the transaction history, take off the executed only toggle and see every player in your league who made a FAAB bid or get to see the waiver order priority run, including all of the missed bids. In that information lies the value.

In any bids there will be winners and losers. If you’re the winner, there is a chance to identify who lost and find value there. If you’ve lost, there is a chance to identify value and make a move to trade your excess players out.
Transfer rumors are still swirling and we have about two weeks before the window closes. Manchester United are still linked with Jadon Sancho; Tottenham’s summer spree appears to not be over; Nelson Semedo has official signed with Wolves. Feel free to drop questions about trades, waivers, gameweek three or anything else.
As always this is the Open Thread for everyone to ask and answer question. Be kind, say positive and if you want to read multiple articles every week plus have full access to the archives we’re always open.

A bit off topic, but does anyone have a late starting league?
Hey John. Great work as always. I had a couple of questions I'd love to gauge some opinion on.
Firstly- if you do have the number 1 waiver position- what are your thoughts on using it for Semedo vs. waiting out. My inclination is to wait given Semedo's relatively average offensive stats at Barca but then again, Wolves look like a really good team this year?
Secondly- what is the value of Under really? As a loan option, looks to be someone to bolster the squad. Would he really play regularly above Maddison (no), or Perez and Barnes (probably not). There are players like Diangana available and they seem better shouts?
