The Top 200 has dropped as we gear up for FPL draft season. We're adding Darwin Nunez, Julian Alvarez, Emi Buendia, Jadon Sancho and Mason Mount to the ranks as we near the start of Premier League 2024/25.
Qq - I don’t see Emile smith rowe on there? First time following along here. Great stuff. I had no idea sleeper just got into the Fantasy EPL game either. Just let me know if I am missing something on these rankings
I wrote about ESR separately. Generally, I will not redo the entire ranks for one (or 2) players moving in/out, but will focus on an article which discusses them more holistically. The reason is primarily because I'm not going to update all of my projections for every transaction; it's too time consuming, doesn't have much self-life, and most of the time the overall shifts in ranks are too insignificant to justify that amount of work (literally dozens of hours).
Thanks, understood. Where do you see Mazraoui this season? I was looking briefly at some comparable stats and he has a similar profile to Estupinan (BHA) (numbers of matches lines up as well) or the likes of Malo Gusto. I also looked at him compared to Diogo Dalot and Tarkwoski. Based on last season he has a better SoT/90, a better passing cmp%, better shot creation actions/90, better Tkl+Int / 90, but less of an aerial threat than those two. I haven't crunched the numbers but if these would hold true for this season wouldn't he fall somewhere in your top 50 overall?
Update: I put $3 fab on Mazraoui and used him in the Fulham match for week 1. It’s just one game and first of the season but he really got his points on the traditional defensive stats and a clean sheet, not as much of the offensive/passing points he profiled as so if his floor is 8 points thats not too bad.
Thanks. Although why is Gunner defensive ranked so relatively low? Both Rays in G13th and missing Gabriel M completely? Is it because of differences between togga and ofpl?
I suspect that it is the difference between the draft game scoring like Togga and how OFPL scores, because the Gunners' defense is actually rated a little higher than their projected scores in part because the minutes there are a bit more convoluted as they continue to bring in starter-caliber players to challenge the existing squad.
With Solanke to Spurs - does that drop him out of your F5 position ranking? He’s gotta be a bit of a “wait and see” now to gauge how many minutes he gets under Ange
Thanks Gaffer! Sleeper app just dropped a fantasy PL platform last week. Looks to have similar customization options like FT. But players are position locked e.g. Saka, Foden are classified as forwards only instead of M/F. Does position flexibility matter significantly when you make your rankings?
Genuinely a little upset they didn't tag me on socials with this announcement since I've been pushing them publicly to add soccer since the day after Togga shuttered. I'll have to take a look at what they've got cooking over there and maybe lob a speculative Q about who (if anyone) they have doing content. I really enjoy Sleeper as a platform and them adding EPL can only be a good thing. Hope it takes off for them.
Yup, this is for comprehensive fantasy premier league draft scoring a la Togga scoring. Because of the changes to FT based/default scoring, these ranks most closely align with that default so if you're using original Togga, the DEF outside the top 20 can be adjusted down slightly.
If you're playing OFPL draft, I wrote a note about this in another post but generally G+A heavy mids need to be adjusted up 1-5 slots w/in their position while holding CDM types need to be dropped significantly. the top 20 defenders are basically the same for both scoring formats, the same with the high end forwards with the exception of those F who (like Diogo Jota) may be deployed in midfield/have greater defensive duties. Finally, the position eligibility are FPL draft on FT; so some of those positions will be different depending on which format you're playing.
Hi, yes. It's a problem caused by having a 'placeholder' for Destiny Udogie, who would have been my No. 13 defender if he had been healthy. For whatever reason, I typo'd Robertson in there, then in isolation failed to notice he was there twice (once in the placeholder spot) and appropriately adjusted him up to the top of Tier 2 based on Robertson's projection. Anyway, I'll update the sheet, given the recent update on Udogie's health will insert him back into the player ranks, correct the Top 200 accordingly and EDIT the post to note that because Udogie looks like he may be healthy for the start of the season that he is worth taking inside the top 100 draft picks. Nice catch and thank you.
Robertson should be properly rated No. 21. Udogie will NOT be ranked as No. 35.
I just needed to get Emi into the table. He's coming off a season-long ACL injury and should be good to resume starting sometime in early fall. It remains to be seen what his initial workload will be, but he's far too good - especially in all the facets that matter for FPL draft- to be left out of drafts. Given that he's participating in group training sessions, I'm pretty bullish on his ability to get 30 EPL appearances this season and if he does that, he'll far outperform even his current high (ish) draft ranking.

Hi, great work! Can I just check is this top 200 list for the Fantrax draft format or the official FPL format?
