Humor me, speculatively, Benrahma to West Ham (per Sky)...do we need not look further than Felipe to see an individual’s talent put to ruin by “he who must not be named”...
Fucking infuriating this is where Benrahma is ending up. Leave Anderson out of it for a moment - THEY JUST SOLD DIANGANA?!? When you’re managed by a dog-eared copy of the novilization of Bring It On it’s hard to put too much stock in anything. Not remotely shocking they’ve had their most success while he’s in quarantine but it’s not like the team stopped playing his tactics during this time either.
Is he capable of managing a front three headlined by Antonio, flanked by Said and Bowen? I genuinely do not know. It seems like if he was the club could have done that with, I dunno, Felipe Anderson and Grady Diangana.
Right now he’s still worth WW1 b/c no one else is announced and his talent is undeniable. Frankly if United keep sleeping on Pochettino I’d love to see West Ham get him on a 10-year deal and just let him run with it.
Would have loved Benrahma landing at Leeds instead of Raphinha. Similarly once Jota left Wolves I thought they might sign him but they seem happy with the kids. With those closed I would be happier if he’d landed at Villa and for value I would have picked Leicester even though that puts him in direct conflict with my son Harvey Barnes. He could have gone to Arsenal and let them play Said - PEA - Pepe but apparently 32 is the new 25. Also fuck it it’s Arsenal they could affford Willian and Benrahma.
But man Benrahma - Jimenez - ADAMA would have been beautiful.
I’m happy he didn’t land at Sheffield United but Said - Rhian - Lys is also a 😍 front three.
I have to say, after having posted this in the gas station parking lot, I am both smiling and saddened at the resounding response. I share your same frustrations if it is any consolation.
@Chelseablues...I hate to say it, but the moment Said is out of shape in their 5-4-1, the "plug" is getting pulled. Similarly, no reason for Moyes ('cough cough' Irving) after womping Wolves and Leicester, using whatever they call their tactics, to change. He could have landed at 15 better places than West Ham.
@John...more importantly, is the personified dog capable of managing an attacking line up consisting of those three and our beloved Frenchman? At times, they appear to look somewhat competitive.
Secretly, I hope our Algerian friend over at City gives him a call and tells him to stear clear...be a good friend (please).
Hey Gaffer - OFPL. In any world does it make sense to move Martial and Tierney for Antonio and Walker? Other fwds are Wood and Jesus. I’d rather move Jesus but he won’t take him.
Yeah that makes sense basically only in OFPL where Antonio looks to have the job won and Tony is going to be at risk of being Pipp’d following his red card and subsequent suspension. I’d rather have Tierney than Walker but neither of them are doing much for me. So yeah it’s kind of a wash unless you really need coverage the next couple weeks.
Who are you turning into Werner? If that’s the endgame do whatever you need to - none of those players you mentioned are sacred cows and I’d deal any/all of them for Timo.
Q: In Togga scoring, Bukayo Saka or Joao Moutinho?
A: Moutinho and it’s not remotely close. Over the past two seasons Joao has averaged 9.7 and 9.3 ppm and done it with minimal counting stats (1g 8a | 1g 6a). He’s also played 38 games in each season. I honestly can’t tell if this is trolling or just recent bias but people should be buying Moutinho at a discount. Saka is fine and could be exceptional but he’s a baby, rated a MID when he’s playing the wing-back so won’t benefit from the CS which makes him goal depedant (which we’ve already seen this season.)
I don’t care about Bamford but if he’s the extra piece to get Werner sure that’s a good offer; I also don’t think you’re valuing ADAMA properly because he is closer to Werner and has a decent chance of being the more valuable player ROS. ADAMA doesn’t need the g/a in Togga scoring to make big gains. It’s starting to look like Werner will be more g/a dependent than we anticipated in the summer.
Was expecting Werner to dominate the counting stats, so far has not been involved in much. Also own Rashford MBE but I am worried about United prospects ROS, would you put an offer in for Werner for Rashford?
I have Werner rated ahead of Rashford by enough that this is not just swapping like for like. I’m down on united assets until the manager question is sorted.
OFPL 10-man classic scoring league. Is it worth taking a punt on Carlos Vinicius?
My Forwards are Jesus, Wood and Adams. Adams would be the one to make way, but I like that he's still nailed on for the moment unlike a lot of the rest of my roster have rotation risk. I'm making the obvious assumption that Vinicius will be Kane's understudy. Spurs playing 2 strikers seems unlikely unless Son has an extended injury layoff.
Noooooooope. And I hate Che Adams but if Vinicius gets 1500’ this season I’d be shocked. Spurs are going to play three forwards but it’s Bale Son Kane w/ Bergwijn next.
Thanks. If Kane sustains an injury then it's anyone's guess whether Vinicus or Son take the central role. Vinicus's role just being to give Harry Kane a rest in Cup games then?
Or to play the five matches Kane inevitability misses at some point. But I could easily see a 6(17) 975’ kind of line for him this year which is all but useless for draft managers.
Staying on the Spurs theme. Dele Alli worth a look?
I've got a lot of love for the lad but we always get mixed messages from Mourinho. 10 days ago it looked like he had one foot out the door, Mourinho denied that, although hard to trust what he says sometimes. But now he's stayed and is showing he's potentially going to fight for his place back. He was dropped into my league's waiver pool last week. I'm considering picking him up and holding for a few weeks as my 5th MID to see how things shape up when Bale gets back involved. If Alli plays in the hole behind Son-Kane-Bale he could be a real asset, in reality when Alli plays Kane drops deeper to take up the defensive slack because Alli is best when he's allowed to roam free and unburdened with defensive duties. But this is why Mourinho has aversion to Alli and the undertone to the whole "Lazy" comment in All or Nothing.
Great insight as usual. 10 team Togga Scoring+ (basically all the possible stats) Would you drop any of Terres, Jota for Marcal, Vestergaard, or Zouma...I have Lamptey, Reguilon, Gabriel, Tierney, Cesar.
And who would you package for Watkins? My F/M are Sterling, Pulisic, Havertz, Firmino, Redmond, Soucek, Fraser, March, Doucoure. I'm inclined to trade away Firmino. But is that value or not enough? Standing pat seems perfectly fine too. Thanks.
“All the possible stats” is like 100+ and as someone who used to live inside the Opta feed I’ll assume that’s not what you mean because holy fuck that would be rough. I would drop Gabriel for Zouma but I’m high on Kurt.
Firmino > watkins and I don’t see a package you can make there. Everyone after Bobby isn’t enough and everyone Bobby and above is too much to pay. If you can sell someone on Soucek goal upside + Redmond consistency that’s good value for both sides.
Yeah, sorry. I just meant things like final third passes, interceptions in the box, long balls accurate, corners forced etc... I'm not sure how G/A dependent Watkins is just yet. Could he be this year's Danny Ings? If Arsenal moved to a back 4 I would feel better about Tierney's prospects but I guess FBs naturally have the edge. Thanks again.
Ings is legitimately one of the 10 best strikers in then EPL, he’s also 30% paper mâché. Watkins is fine - loved him for Brentford, happy enough with his landing spot - but he’s not Danny’s level, yet. That said for FPL purposes he could be nearly as valuable.
Hi John. Thanks for your great work. 10 teams. No trades. Daily subs, so all players on roster score every week. Here is my team. Trent Alexander-Arnold, James Rodriguez, Paul Pogba, Matheus Pereira, Bernardo Silva, Marcus Rashford, Sergio Reguilon, Tammy Abraham, Benjamin Mendy, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Raphinha, Nicolas Pepe, Eberechi Eze, Kurt Zouma, Eric Dier, and Aaron Cresswell. Team is struggling and in 6th place. Any obvious drops? Available on waivers include Almiron, Hendrick, Fernandinho, Hourihane, Luiz, Alli, Basham, Kovacic, and Norwood.
Real quick: list players by position and last name; it’s really hard to figure this out otherwise.
Dier is useless - Id be willing to add Alli w/ this team b/c you don’t need much immediate help and he has big PPM potential when he starts. You also don’t need Mendy but none of the waiver names you listed are better. Nice team; no trades is a terrible format tho. Really limits league engagement.
Yeah that makes plenty of sense to me. Werner is a stupid good professional football person who has 0 impediment to playing 35 matches for Chelsea in the league this season. Buy him everywhere people are selling on the cheap.
I currently have robbo, samedo, gabriel & Digne in fantrax draft. I have PVA and Pereira (lei) available. Thinking of dropping torres for one of them? Crazy? If not which one. Would prefer a striker to replace Torres but not option so I'm thinking of long term here.
I wouldn’t pick up PVA. We all love Paddy but he’s not that valuable a fantasy asset. Give a three of Andy Nelson and Lucas I’d be happy to drop Gabriel for Pereira and wait on his return in January. I know he’s got a long road but he should be 100% owned.
Rather have Michy than Bergwijn. Where is he playing with Son, Bale, Vinicius and the lanky one all ahead of him? I’m sure he’ll get minutes but Michy should be starting and I still believe he will replace Ayew sooner than later.
A: 6-7 pt floor with substantial upside. RLC’s last full time gigs saw him post impressive numbers. Wrote about this at length on Monday, but the short version is if he’s healthy he’s a MID3 for a team where he should become *the guy*
Another for you as I have a second OFPL draft team in another league. Current midfield; of Sterling, Adama, B Silva, McNeil and Jota. Midfielders available on waivers; Torres, Fornals, Fraser, Soucek, Saka, Pepe. Advice welcome.
Jota can certainly get dropped and Soucek is a great MID5 given his regular role in the side. Fornals isn't much for g/a. Personally I am not giving up on Pepe but I'm not surprised to see him on waivers. I assume you're mostly running 4-3-3 with that team and using Sterling - Adama - McNeil in the mid? If you're doing well, holding Jota and Silva makes sense but if you need to be regularly starting four MID I would be happy to pick up Soucek. If you're just looking for upside plays hold Jota and drop Silva for Torres/Pepe for when they start.
Greetings Gaffer, hope you are well. OFPL draft league query. Current midfield of Adama, Maddison, Havertz, Mahrez and B Silva. Would you consider dropping Silva for Torres?
Sure. In OFPL Silva's value is significantly lower given his spot in the rotation at City, the lower chances for accumulating goals and assists and bonus point. He played over 2000 minutes last season and only picked up 7 bonus points.
Yes this is fucking insane. McNeil is one of the most consistent fantasy performers and will finish in the top 20 at his position again this year even if he only scores like 5 goals. Raphinha isn’t even IN LEEDS yet. There is plenty tonlike there but if these are your options there’s no choice.
Yeah I don’t mind doubling up on DEF who are both starters and good. I worry Doherty isn’t good right now (still can’t drop him but wow does he need a big game to calm some nerves)
I don’t think it matters if Aurier starts or not - Doherty needs to find involvement in the attack not just physically being in the final third. His heat maps look ok but his points tell a different story. Been better if Aurier left? Sure there is less competition but this is a concern borne of role and link-up, not usage.
Humor me, speculatively, Benrahma to West Ham (per Sky)...do we need not look further than Felipe to see an individual’s talent put to ruin by “he who must not be named”...

What's your ideal destination for Said? West Ham doesn't seem all too bad if he pushes Fornals out.
Am I crazy to want to buy low on ManU assets both defense and attack?
Either they turn form or Ole gets sacked for Poch right? Seems like a win win.
Would have loved Benrahma landing at Leeds instead of Raphinha. Similarly once Jota left Wolves I thought they might sign him but they seem happy with the kids. I have a bad feeling Dele is a cup superstar and part of the Europa Team of the Season and gets like 1100' min the EPL.
